Why “what’s included” matters so much

The phrase “Bali wedding package” can mean wildly different things from one provider to the next. One package might cover only the ceremony; another might include a full reception with dinner, drinks and a band. That’s why the headline price tells you almost nothing on its own — the real question is always what’s included. Typical inclusions

Most Bali wedding packages, at minimum, include the core ceremony elements:

• Ceremony venue and setup — beach, villa, clifftop or resort.
• Wedding arbour, aisle styling and seating.
• A celebrant or officiant for a legal, religious or symbolic ceremony.
• Bridal bouquet, buttonhole and ceremony florals.
• Hair and makeup for the bride.
• Photography (coverage varies by package).
• Planning and on-the-day coordination.

All-inclusive packages go further, adding the reception: a plated or buffet dinner, beverages, a cake, and often entertainment like a DJ. These cover the whole day from ceremony to dance floor.

What’s often charged separately

This is where couples get caught out. Items frequently not included in a base package — and worth asking about — include:

• Additional guests beyond the package’s base number.
• Upgraded or premium styling and florals.
• Videography (often separate from photography).
• Extra photography hours or a second shooter.
• Premium bar packages and additional beverages.
• Legal documentation fees for a legal ceremony.
• Guest transport and accommodation coordination.

None of these are hidden traps when a planner is upfront — but they can make a “cheap” package expensive once you add what you actually need.

Questions to ask before you book

To compare packages fairly, look past the price and ask: How many guests does this cover, and what’s the cost per extra guest? Is the reception included or ceremony-only? Is video included?
